Dr Dan Diamond's Powerdyme Blog

Fertilizer for people who want to grow!

Just wait 'till you've watched the video embedded in this blog entry. I've watched it a couple of times now and the more I ponder it, the more significant I think it is. At first, it made me laugh. I had to. I couldn't help it. But, carry it around in your noggin for a couple of days and you might start to think differently about the impact you could have at work if you were fully engaged.

No doubt, negativity is contagious and can spread like cancer. But, I believe, an engaged and enthusiastic employee will have much more of an impact. People are searching for significance and purpose.  This video reminds me of being in a totally dark room. Just a small light can have a profound difference. (Be sure and watch the whole video.)

What are you thoughts? Do you think that the power of light is greater than darkness? Can an engaged employee turn around a team...a company?

To see how contageous this really is, have your friends or coworkers watch this with you and let me know what happens. Please share your experience and perspective in the comment box below.

People are very contagious.
Yes I believe, no, I know that one person can change everything. Darkness is real.
But light always wins over darkness.

There is literally no such thing as darkness, only absence of light. You can only measure light - not darkness.

I did laugh and imagined myself in that situation, I probably had been at one time in the long ago past.

W.H. Auden wrote..."The funniest mortals, and the kindest, are most aware of the baffle of being; don't kid themselves our care is consolable, but believe a laugh is less heartless than tears."
I have been in this circumstance and I totally believe that one person can make an Huge impact on a group. Laughter and Joy is contagious and attracts others....Negativity and Silence is isolating and drives others away.
The Joy of the Lord allows us to rejoice despite our circumstances

I laughed until I cried. Loved it. We laugh a lot at our group. What a great gift laughter is.
